About the Jeronimo Lopez Youth Project
The photographers are part of the Jeronimo Lopez Youth Project in Nagarote. The Youth Project provides 150 youngsters from the Jeronimo Lopez barrio with year-round after school classes in English, writing and photography, computers, sewing, tailoring, hairstyling and cooking. Each month the kids undertake a community service project. They also attend workshops on substance abuse, domestic violence, goal setting and healthy lifestyles. Since the project started, local police report a drop in gangs, violence, drug trafficking and crime in the barrio. Your purchase of their photos will help us continue the program.
