What Is NicaPhoto?
These photos are taken by youngsters ages 11 to 20 who live in one of the poorest barrios in Nagarote, in Nicaragua which is the second poorest country in the hemisphere. They are surrounded by gangs, drugs, crime and violence, yet there is a joy in their photography, as in their lives, that belies their poverty. Visit our gallery to see their photos and read their biographical poems. Visit us often as we add new photos.
